State of Missouri Public sites:
State of Missouri: Official site of the state, source of online services and information. Missouri is named for the Missouri river which forms its western boundary and empties into the Gulf of Mexico. The name roughly translated from Native American folklore means "Father of Waters." The translation comes from the Chippewa words "mici zibi" meaning "great river" or "gathering in of all the waters" and the Algonquin word "Messipi". Missouri was organized as a territory in 1798 and was admitted as the 20th state to join the Union on December 10, 1817. Jackson is the capital city and the largest Metropolitan area. http://www.state.mo.us/

Excerpt from website: "Most state parks have basic campsites, which include a parking pad, table, grill and lantern post; and electric campsites, which have basic facilities plus electricity. Some sites offer basic facilities plus electric, water and sewer hookups. Many camping areas have modern restrooms, hot showers, trailer dump stations, coin-operated laundries and firewood.
In 2005, reservations are accepted in 35 state parks. A portion of campsites in the reservation parks are available for the first-come, first-served user except at Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park, which is 100 percent reservable. Also, first-come, first-served users may occupy an available reservable campsite for a limited time. Campers must first check with park staff before occupying a reservable campsite" http://www.mostateparks.com/
